Siggesta Gård
Siggesta Gård (Farm) is situated on the north side of the island Värmdö, the largest in the Stockholm archipelago. Siggesta has a unique environment with burial mounds, remains of ancient settlements, and associated arable land whose roots can be traced all the way back to the Viking Era. More than 175 graves has been found and most likely are there even more hidden under the vegetation. During summer guided tours around the burial mounds are available. Siggesta also has wonderful terraces with views out over a unique and unspoiled Uppland agricultural environment. In the renovated barn from the late 1800s, you will find Restaurant Ladugården, with a bar, outdoor service and space for functions and conferences throughout the year.
Besides being an historically interesting location Siggesta Gård also has developed into a popular holiday destination both for locals as well as tourists. Siggesta Gård offers different kinds of physical activities such as Värmdö Runt Adventure Golf (miniature golf that provides a cultural and historical tour around a miniature model of Värmdö), Soccer-golf (a top-class course that easily measures up to a normal golf course with regards to the setting and the quality of the greens) and several types of hiking tracks. There are rabbits, goats, sheep, chickens and miniature pigs on the farm during summer which of course is very popular with the young ones.
Siggesta Gård offers a wide range of meeting premises. Larger groups (up to 535 persons) can be accomodated in the old barn covering 325m2 and has a ceiling height of 14m. In the barn there is a genuine rustic style breathing Swedish history. For the smaller groups more intimate rooms in different styles are available in the newly refurbished manor Herrgården. This venue is perfect for groups that want the more extravagant 1700's feel. Hidden behind the decorative period fittings and furnishings are hi-tech facilities which allows a modern meeting in an inspiring and different environment.
Siggesta Gård's café Orangeriet provides an exotic hideaway for hungry guests all year around with it's Mediterranean climate.
